Stakeholders and residents of Kurfi Local Government Area, Katsina State, have commended Tanimu Yakubu Kurfi for his pivotal role in facilitating the allocation of a 40-kilometre road project to the area, describing the intervention as timely, strategic, and transformative.

In a statement issued on Friday, 16 January 2026, Prof. Mainasara Yakubu Kurfi of Bayero University, Kano, speaking on behalf of the people of Kurfi Local Government Area and other well-meaning stakeholders, expressed profound appreciation for what he described as a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and responsive representation.

According to the statement, the road project represents far more than the construction of physical infrastructure. It was described as a critical investment that would serve as an engine for economic growth, social cohesion, improved security, and enhanced human dignity for the people of Kurfi and neighbouring communities.

“Roads are arteries of development,” the statement noted, adding that the 40km road network would significantly improve mobility, boost commercial activities, and enhance access to essential services such as healthcare and education. The project is also expected to ease the daily challenges faced by farmers, traders, students, and commuters while opening new pathways for rural transformation and sustainable development.

The statement further highlighted the strategic foresight behind the achievement, noting that in an era when many communities struggle to attract government attention and investment, the successful allocation of such a major infrastructural project underscores Tanimu Yakubu Kurfi’s credibility, influence, and commitment to inclusive development.

Observers believe the project will have long-term benefits, creating new economic corridors, strengthening community integration, and laying a foundation for prosperity that will serve present and future generations.

The intervention has also been credited with restoring public confidence in leadership that listens to the people and delivers tangible results. Stakeholders described the road project as a lasting testament to service, vision, and dedication to the progress of Kurfi Local Government Area and Katsina State as a whole.

The statement concluded with prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and capacity for service, expressing hope that the project would mark only one of many milestones in an enduring legacy of development, foresight, and people-centred governance.
